Evang. Reinhard Bonnke Dies at 79

Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, the German Christian preacher who has made Africa his mission field, and who  is credited to have converted over 77 million people to Christ through his gospel, is dead.
In a statement by his wife, Annie Bonnke, the evangelist passed on Saturday at the age of 79.
“Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, it is with sorrow that the Bonnke Family would like to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke,” Anni Bonnke said in a statement on Saturday afternoon.
“He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on December 7, 2019. For the past 60 years he has preached the glorious Gospel of Jesus throughout the entire world.
“We want to thank you on behalf of him and our family, for your kind love and unwavering support, which enabled him to preach the matchless message of salvation to countless people.”
Over the past 50 years, Bonnke had preaches on the soil of Africa where he began in the town of Lesotho as a missionary.
The Evangelist Bonnke Crusade hosted under the Christ For All Nation ministry saw large crowds and the move of God's Spirit.
In his last visit to Nigeria, Bonnke publicly announced and anointed Evangelist Daniel Kolenda as his successor in a crusade held along Lagos Ibadan Expressway in 2017. This act was significant as ministers of God could read the handwriting on the wall.
The general of God will be missed for all his works and passion for the gospel as expressed in his book, Evangelism by Fire.
He is survived by wife and three children.
