The Nigerian President, Mohammedu Buhari on Wednesday in Abuja launched three combat in his effort to fight Boko Haram operations and other insurgences. The helicopters include two Augusta 109 and one Mi-171E. The cost of the procurement were not made public.
The launching which witnessed many military exercises took place during the induction ceremony of the Nigerian Air Force’s at the state capital.
The NAF has procured and inducted several fighter aircraft, helicopter gunships since the administration of President Buhari but the public is yet to see much impact of the procurements.
The Federal Government via the Military Authority in November released 983 suspected Boko Haram members cleared of complicity with the terror group. This and other developments have left doubts in the minds of the populace whether the failed efforts to curb the insurgence in the country were deliberate and greed motivated.
